Herb Gardening has been part of the gardening regime
since we can remember, which is quite a while back. Herds are well
known for adding flavour to food but was also used to treat illnesses
and injuries, like burns. If you are interested in starting your own
herb garden, follow some of these ideas:
First and foremost you need to plan your garden.
Think about the various herbs you will want to plant and what the
different uses for the herbs will be. Also take into consideration
the space they will occupy. The best thing to do is probably buy a
book on herb gardening to ensure that you get it right.
Draw your garden on paper like you would draw up
plans for building a house. This will ensure that you don't run out
of space. Remember to separate the annuals
from the perennials, so when the time comes that you have to pull
out the annuals first, you won't be disturbing the perennials.
Try to plant the perennials on the edge of your garden so when it
is time to till your garden they won't be in danger of getting
dug up.

For convenience you need to remember to plant the tall
ones at the back and the shorter ones in front. If you rather prefer
to keep herbs out of your garden, you can obviously have herb pots
which have three or more outlets for the herbs. Fill the
pot up to the first outlet and plant it before continuing on
with the filling and planting process.
Pleas Note: The herb that
requires the most water is planted in the bottom hole, while the
variety that requires the least, goes in the highest hole.
If are considering having a square herb bed, you can divide it into four by two paths crossing at mid point,
measuring 3 feet. You can either border it with stone or brick or make use of a
wooden ladder, which you can lay down in your garden and plant your herbs
between its rungs.
